Instead of being designed on a computer and then processed through a special machine in duplication, handmade jewelry has been made and deisgned personally by a handmade jewelry artist. Often, handmade jewelry artists come out with a piece of jewelry that is totally different to anything you have ever seen before!

The word "handmade" means that the jewelry has been made by hand rather than through a simple design produced many times over. Some handmade artist do use machines to make a silver or gold band for the gemstone to sit in, but they have to guide the machine and place the gemstones where they are to go.
